Import Requirements
1 Admissible Plant Parts: Fruit
2 Admissible Ports: Continental U.S. Ports
3 Import Permit Required: An Import Permit is required. To obtain a permit, go to APHIS eFile.
4 Subject to Inspection: This commodity is subject to inspection at the port of entry and all general requirements of 7 CFR 319.56-3.
5 Commercial Consignments Only
6 Phytosanitary Certificate: Consignments must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Taiwan with an additional declaration stating the fruit has been produced in accordance with the requirements of the systems approach, inspected, and found free of P. psidii and P. psidiicola.
7 Port Restriction: Do not import or distribute into or within Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or any U.S. territory.
8 Pest Mitigation Strategy: Consignments must satisfy only one of the mitigation strategy options listed below.
9 Pest Mitigation Strategy: Option 1
  9.1 Condition of Entry Treatment: T107-m (Cold Treatment) , or T107-n (Cold Treatment)
  9.2 Condition of Entry Treatment: If the fruit originated from a place of production determined by the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Taiwan to be free of Zeugodacus cucurbitae and Zeugodacus tau and is located in an area of low-pest prevalence for Z. cucurbitae and Z. tau, use T107-m.
  9.3 Condition of Entry Treatment: If the fruit originated from areas not meeting the low-pest prevalence threshold, use T107-n.
10 Pest Mitigation Strategy: Option 2
  10.1 Condition of Entry Treatment: T105-a-2 (Irradiation) NOTICE: program phytosanitary requirements designed for this commodity to meet U.S. entry requirements have not been met. Therefore, import permits will not be issued at this time.

Additional Requirements
14 Development of an operational workplan that the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Taiwan must enter into with APHIS.

Registration of places of production and packinghouses with the NPPO of Taiwan.
Regular inspections of places of production by the NPPO.
Grove sanitation and trapping for fruit flies in places of production.
Safeguarding and identification fo the lot throughout the growing, packing, and export process.
Bagging of fruit intended for export.
Pre-export inspection by the NPPO, including fruit cutting of a portion of a biometric sample.
