5 Follow these inspection and cutting guidelines for bananas from certain African countries:
  1. Select 300 fruit from 60 boxes.
  2. Examine the fruit for external pests.
  3. Cut at least one-third (100) fruit, concentrating on damaged, overripe, and discolored fruit, looking for internally feeding pests, including fruit flies.
  4. SUBMIT pest interceptions using established port protocol.
  5. If no pests are found, RELEASE the consignment.
