Import Requirements
1 Admissible Plant Parts: Fruit
2 Admissible Ports: All Ports
3 Import Permit Required: An Import Permit is required. To obtain a permit, go to e-Permits.
4 Subject to Inspection: This commodity is subject to inspection at the port of entry and all general requirements of 7 CFR 319.56-3.
5 Commercial Consignments Only
6 Preclearance Program: Consignments must be precleared. The consignment must be accompanied by a PPQ Form 203 signed by the APHIS inspector on site in Chile to validate foreign site preclearance inspection after soapy water and wax treatment (T102-b). Maritime vessels carrying precleared consignments may be validated by a vessel report from APHIS. If the consignment is not precleared, REFUSE ENTRY.
7 Production Location: Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) quarantine area
  7.1 Federal Order: Federal Order DA-2015-42, issued July 31, 2015, effective immediately and until further notice. This commodity is not authorized entry unless it originates from an area in Chile not under quarantine for Medfly.
8 Production Location: Not from any quarantine area.
  8.1 Phytosanitary Certificate: Must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Chile with an additional declaration stating the consignment was produced in an area free of Ceratitis capitata
9 Federal Order: Federal Order DA-2015-42  (https://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/plants/plant_imports/federal_order/downloads/2015/DA-2015-42.pdf), issued July 31, 2015, effective immediately, and until further notice: consignments originating in Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata or Medfly) quarantine areas (refer to Federal Order) require an additional treatment in accordance with 7 CFR Part 305 or must originate in an area free of Medfly.
