Import Requirements
1 Admissible Plant Parts: Fruit
2 Admissible Ports: Ports as Specified in the Import Requirements
3 Import Permit Required: An Import Permit is required. To obtain a permit, go to e-Permits.
4 Subject to Inspection: This commodity is subject to inspection at the port of entry and all general requirements of 7 CFR 319.56-3.
5 Commercial Consignments Only
6 Production Location: Fruit fly-free area
  6.1 Phytosanitary Certificate: Must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate from the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Mexico (electronic certificates are acceptable) with two additional declarations stating:
  • These regulated articles originated from an area free of pests as designated in 7 CFR 319.56-5.
  • The citrus in this consignment were cleaned using normal packinghouse procedures.
  6.2 Packaging or Labeling Requirements: Boxes must be labeled with the name of the orchard or grove of origin, or the name of the grower and the name of the municipality and State in which the fruit was produced.
  6.3 Other: Fruit must be sealed if it originated in a fruit fly-free area, but transited an area not listed as fruit fly free.
  6.4 Admissible Ports: All Ports
7 Production Location: Not a fruit fly-free area
  7.1 Phytosanitary Certificate: Consignments must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate from the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of the country of origin with an additional declaration stating the citrus in the consignment were cleaned using normal packinghouse procedures.
  7.2 Admissible Ports: North Atlantic (NA)
