Import Requirements
1 Admissible Plant Parts: Fruit
2 Admissible Ports: All Ports
3 Import Permit Required: An Import Permit is required. To obtain a permit, go to APHIS eFile.
4 Subject to Inspection: This commodity is subject to inspection at the port of entry and all general requirements of 7 CFR 319.56-3.
5 Commercial Consignments Only
6 Phytosanitary Certificate: Consignments must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of the country of origin with an additional declaration stating:
•     The peppers in the shipment originate from an approved place of production free of false codling moth, Thaumatotibia leucotreta Meyrick; AND
•     The fruit in the consignment was inspected and found free of the symptoms of tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV)
7 Federal Order: ToBRFV Federal Order. This Federal Order has updated the import requirements for this commodity by requiring an additional declaration on the phytosanitary certificate. "Commercial Consignments Only" is already a requirement for this program. 8 Variety-Specific Limitations: To simplify the inspection, the importer or importer's agent must arrange the consignment by color ("tri-color" is one type of "color"). If consignments are not separated by color, the airway bill or bill of lading will be used to decide what is an inspectional unit.

9 Conduct a standard 2% inspection for external pests and hitchhikers. Cut the fruit only if there are signs of damage (such as blemishes or dark spots) or suspect internal feeders.There is no minimum number of fruit required to be cut. restricted image
